Previous solution
- Large space requirement
- Costly
- No operator feedback
- Complex
- Error-prone
- Dedicated, expensive PLC
A leading automotive manufacturer operates one of the largest and most complex assembly plants in North America. Tire pressure readings were collected using a dedicated PLC, which controlled a series of proprietary and expensive ATEQ devices and antennas. Once the vehicle was in position, the PLC prompted the ATEQ device to collect the readings. The data was sent to the MES system without operator confirmation.
GRID HMI
- Smaller space requirement
- Inexpensive
- Operator feedback
- Simpler
- Error-proof
- Multi-functional GRID controller
As each pair of vehicle tires crosses the antenna line, the GRID HMI sequences two ATEQ units to measure the pressure of each tire and record its ID. GRID displays the test results to an operator for confirmation, then forwards the data to the MES system.
