On this tab, all of the phone numbers and email addresses of the currently selected contact will appear. The name of the contact appears in the title bar at the top of the application screen. The order in which these numbers and email addresses appear is customizable. We'll get to that in following sections.

There two display modes available for this tab. You can show just the labels for each name and address (1-line-per-item), or you can display the label as well as the number or address it represents (2-lines-per-item).

You can change the display mode using a menu option, or you can press the 0 key to toggle between the two modes. Whichever mode you select will be remembered so that it may be restored even between shutdowns of the application.

In any contact where there are 2 or more phone numbers, one of those numbers is the default. The default number is the one dialed when you press TALK on any tab other than this one.

By the same token, in any contact where there are 2 or more email address, one of those addresses is the default. The default address is the one used when you send a email message from the Names tab.

The default is identified by an asterisk next to the label for that specific number or email address.

Keyboard Behavior

The asterisk key will always move the highlight back to the first entry in the list. Think of asterisk as the HOME key.

The right softkey will always say Back. Pressing this key returns to the Name Tab.

The up and down cursor keys move the highlight up and down. When you move up from the topmost item, the highlight will move to the bottom of the list. When you move down from the last item, the highlight will move to the top.

The left and right arrow keys are used to move to an adjacent tab. Right moves to the Address tab, while left move to the Names tab.

The SELECT key allows you to edit the item.

The Clear key (usually mark as "C" on most Nokia keypads) deletes the selected item. Don't worry about pressing the key accidentally, because you'll be prompted to confirm the deletion.

Pressing the TALK key will (for a phone number) dial that number, or for an email address will begin a new email message to that address. See the section on Calling Cards for details on how numbers are dialed. Note that the email feature only works if you are using a version of ContactsEx that you signed yourself, or you are using a cracked phone that can install unsigned applications. This feature is unavailable on self-signed copies.

The END key sends the program to the background and returns the phone to the idle screen. This differs slightly from pressing the Hide softkey, in that the softkey only sends the program to the background. Whatever application was in the foreground when you last brought ContactsEx to the foreground will return to the foreground.

The 0 key, as noted above, toggles between 1-line-per-item display mode and 2-lines-per-item display mode.

The keys 1 through 9 and pound have no function in this tab.

Menu Functions (common to Numbers and Addresses)

Switch to 1-Line: This will appear if the tab is presently in 2-lines-per-item mode. Selecting this switches to the 1-line-per-item mode.

Switch to 2-Line: This will appear if the tab is presently in 1-line-per-item mode. Selecting this switches to the 2-lines-per-item mode.

Select Format: This will appear if there are 2 or more matching format strings in the Format Database. A string is deemed to match when the country code and total digits are the same. By changing the format string for this number you change the way it will appear every time it is displayed by ContactsEx. See Number Formats.

Add New Number: Allows you to add a new phone number to the contact. See Numbers Dialog for details on entering phone number fields.

Add New Email: Allows you to add a new email address to the contact. See Email Dialog for details on entering email fields.

Edit: Edits the currently selected phone number or email address.

Delete: Deletes the currently selected phone number or email address.

Set as Default: Sets the current phone number or email address as the default of its type. The default phone number and the default email address (if there are more than 1 of them) will be denoted by an asterisk at the end of the label.

Change Order: Allows you to change the order in which the items on this tab appear. For complete details on using this feature, see Changing Item Order.

Exit: This option terminates the program.

Menu Functions (for Phone Numbers)

Send: Expands to a submenu with 3 item, namely SMS, MMS, and Audio Note. It allows you to send a message to the currently-selected number. This option is always available, regardless of what type the number is designated as, but if the number you attempt to send one of these messages to is not a cell phone, it probably won't work.

Make a VoIP Call: This is still an experimental option. If it works, it should allow users with a working SIP configuration on their phones make a VoIP call directly from ContactsEx.

Menu Functions (for Email Addresses)

Send: Expands to a submenu with 3 item, namely Email, MMS, and Audio Note. It allows you to send these types of messages to the selected email address. Note that the Email feature only works if you are using a version of ContactsEx that you signed yourself, or you are using a cracked phone that can install unsigned applications. The Email feature is unavailable on self-signed copies.
