This tab contains all of the options needed to setup the Calling Card feature. The available options are as follows:

Number of Cards: This option determines whether you want to support just one card at a time (to handle all of your long distance calling needs) or if you want two simultaneous Calling Cards (one to handle in-county calls and another to handle all international calls). You'd choose the latter even if you used exactly the same service for both types of calls, because chances are you'll need to use a slightly different Dial String for each. ContactsEx automatically determines which Calling Card to use based on the country code of the outgoing call. If the outgoing call has the same country code as you, it's deemed to be a national call and used the Card designated as National. If the country code is different from yours, it used the International Calling Card.

Options Available when you choose just one card:

Calling Card: This option is provided as a secondary method of selecting the one-and-only Active Calling Card, plus it provides a way to turn off the Calling Card feature and dial long distance calls normally by appending your country code to the beginning of the phone numbers. When you press the OK softkey you'll be presented with a list of the contacts presently configured as Calling Cards, plus an option to use just your country code. Select the card you way and then press the OK softkey.

Default Dial String: This option allows you to configure the default string used to dial Calling Cards that don't specify a custom dial string. For full details on what a dialing string is, see Calling Cards. Press the asterisk key to enter *, +, or p. Do not use the "w" symbol in a dial string.

Options Available when you choose two cards:

National Calling Card: This option is provided as a secondary method of selecting the Active National Calling Card (the one used to dial numbers in the same country code as you), plus it provides a way to turn off the National Calling Card feature and dial long distance calls normally by appending your country code to the beginning of the phone numbers. When you press the OK softkey you'll be presented with a list of the contacts presently configured as Calling Cards, plus an option to use just your country code. Select the card you way and then press the OK softkey.

Int'l Calling Card: This option is provided as a secondary method of selecting the Active International Calling Card (the one used to dial numbers outside of your own country), plus it provides a way to turn off the International Calling Card feature and dial long distance calls normally. When you press the OK softkey you'll be presented with a list of the contacts presently configured as Calling Cards, plus an option to use just your country code. Select the card you way and then press the OK softkey.

Default Nat Dial String: This option allows you to configure the default string used to dial National Calling Cards that don't specify a custom dial string. For full details on what a dialing string is, see Calling Cards. Press the asterisk key to enter *, +, or p. Do not use the "w" symbol in a dial string.

Default Int'l Dial String: This option allows you to configure the default string used to dial International Calling Cards that don't specify a custom dial string. For full details on what a dialing string is, see Calling Cards. Press the asterisk key to enter *, +, or p. Do not use the "w" symbol in a dial string.
